How Does Botox Work?

Understanding the process.

Every smile, frown, or laugh activates facial muscles, leading to the formation of dynamic wrinkles. Botox is a trusted muscle relaxer in the neuromodulator category and intervenes by softening these wrinkles. It provides a non-invasive solution, effectively addressing the visible signs of aging and leaving you with a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance. Applied to key areas like the forehead, eyes, and mouth, Botox subtly transforms the signs of aging with a touch of elegance. The precision and effectiveness of Botox make it a preferred choice for those seeking a smoother and more youthful look.

What Are the Benefits of Botox?

The positive results.

Botox offers several benefits, making it a popular choice for many. One key advantage is its ability to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, providing a more youthful and refreshed appearance. The treatment is quick, with noticeable results within a couple of weeks. Because Botox is versatile, it addresses various areas like the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet. Beyond its cosmetic applications, Botox can be used for treating concerns such as excessive sweating or jaw pain. Our experienced team ensures you get the best, natural-looking results without any overdone appearance.

What to Expect

Understanding the procedure.

When getting Botox, expect a swift and efficient procedure. The appointment typically lasts around half an hour, including a consultation, health history discussion, and goal exploration. The injection process takes just a few minutes, and you’ll be amazed at how quick and easy it is. We’ll ask you to make facial expressions to target specific muscles, using a small needle for precise injections. You might notice minor fluid pockets and occasional small bruises, but these typically resolve quickly. Botox is FDA-approved and safe, with results visible within two weeks and lasting about 3-4 months. It’s an efficient way to maintain a refreshed appearance.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

Understanding the Process.

Chemical peels reveal a smoother, more even complexion through a deep exfoliation process. At our med spa here in Scottsdale, AZ, we offer a variety of peels to target different skin concerns. During the procedure, the peel solution is applied to the skin. It is either removed or left on for you to go home with. Over the next few days, your skin will peel and flake. Chemical peels are great for treating acne, hyperpigmentation, age spots, textured or rough skin, dull complexion, melasma, and fine lines. Peels vary in strength and may need more or less treatments to ensure optimal results and smoother, more radiant skin.

Preparation for a peel may include specific skincare products like retinol which help prep your skin for a peel. Deeper peels require more preparation than more mild peels. If you’re unsure, you can always schedule a consultation with our aesthetician for personalized recommendations.

A chemical peel appointment typically takes 30 minutes to an hour and includes cleansing your skin. Some peels may be done with a facial.

The downtime for the peel is going to vary based on the type of peel and the strength of the peel. Some of our peels are “no peel peels” which may only have around 2 days of flaking while others may result in a week of peeling.

You will see the results as soon as you are done peeling. Depending on the type of peel done, this may be as soon as 4 days after your peel!

If you are looking for a peel with less downtime but amazing results, then BioRePeel is the perfect peel for you! BioRePeel is formulated so that your skin peels minimally or not at all. Typically, patients will experience light peeling for 2-3 days. This peel is done in a series of 4 treatments spaced about a week apart and is great for anti-aging or hyperpigmentation. Anyone can benefit! We can also add on the BioRePeel to any facial or Vivace Ultra treatment.

Price varies, light peels are included in facials. BioRePeel is $275 per treatment. Green Sea Peel is $175.
