There are a few different types of treatments currently used for non-invasive skin tightening- radiofrequency, radiofrequency microneedling, and ultrasound technology. Sofwave utilizes ultrasound technology. The energy from Sofwave only goes 1.5mm deep, which makes it a very safe treatment. Other technologies may target deeper tissue which can result in fat loss and premature aging. Radiofrequency is typically a short-lived result. Microneedling with radiofrequency (Vivace) is a great treatment for skin rejuvenation but is not as effective for skin tightening.
Your CoolPeel appointment will be about an hour. A topical numbing is first applied to make the treatment very comfortable. The CoolPeel portion of your appointment will take about 10 minutes. A handheld device is used in the area of concern to create micro-channels and stimulate cell turnover. The treatment may feel warm or tingly and after your face will feel hot (like a mild sunburn) for several hours. CoolPeel can also be combined with Vivace for more skin tightening.
