Before and after of our beautiful client

Dermal fillers at Curated Medical are versatile injectables that are used to restore and correct volume loss due to aging or genetics. Filler can be used in many different ways and to treat many concerns on the face and body. There are 3 general types of filler- hyaluronic acid (like Juvederm or Restylane), calcium-based (Radiesse), or collagen-building (Sculptra), all have their own unique benefits that can be used as part of your treatment plan depending on your goals.

Juvederm

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid filler that is injected into the skin at different depths to improve wrinkles, provide volume, and augment facial features. The Juvederm line of products includes Ultra, Ultra Plus, Volbella, Vollure, and Voluma.

Restylane

The Restylane family of products are also hyaluronic acid fillers and are used in the same way and same areas as Juvederm. These include Restylane-L, Restylane Refyne, Restylane, Kysse, Restylane Defyne, and Restylane Lyft.

Restylane Versa

Versa is a third hyaluronic acid filler. This is a very versatile filler that can be used in many areas of the face and is popular for lips.

Sculptra

Sculptra is a different kind of filler, made from poly-L-lactic acid. Instead of creating immediate change like Juvederm, Restylane, and Versa; Sculptra stimulates your own natural collagen growth over a period of 6-8 weeks. Sculptra is typically used to rejuvenate the whole face and is done in 2-3 sessions done about 6 weeks apart. A consultation is recommended prior to Sculptra injections.

Radiesse

Radiesse is a filler made from calcium hydroxylapatite. The calcium is suspended in a gel-like solution. This is a unique filler because it can be used in several different ways: as a volumizing filler for areas like cheeks or jawline, or as a collagen-building filler like Sculptra. Radiesse is also great for neck and chest rejuvenation in its hyper-dilute form for collagen building.

A dermal filler appointment is 30 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on the areas treated. For example, a lip filler appointment is typically around 30 minutes while an appointment to treat the cheeks, chin and jawline will take 1 hour and 15 minutes. During your appointment, we will discuss your goals, take pictures, go over your health history and perform the injections. The injections themselves take as little as 5-10 minutes per area treated.

During your appointment, we will first clean your skin and take before photos. We will then apply topical numbing cream or inject lidocaine to numb the areas being treated. Once you are numb, we will use very small needles or blunt tipped cannulas to inject the filler. During the appointment, you will be able to see what the results look like, although you may have some swelling or bruising.

After the procedure, you may have some swelling and possible bruising. It is also normal to be sore for a couple of days. The initial swelling and bruising will usually last 3-5 days. Although you will see a result right away, it takes about 3 weeks for the filler to fully settle. For Sculptra, results are seen in 6-8 weeks.

Dermal fillers last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. This will depend on the type of filler used, the amount used, and how your body metabolizes the filler. In general, lip filler lasts around 6-12 months while cheek, chin and jawline may last 12+ months.

Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid (Juvederm, Restylane, RHA), calcium hydroxyapetite (Radiesse), or poly-l-lactic acid (Sculptra. These are all substances that are found naturally in the body, which makes them very safe and have little risk for any kind of reaction.
Many patients love using lip; Sculptra is a filler that stimulates collagen through an immune response. Because it volumizes by building collagen, it also helps to slow down the aging process. Sculptra provides very natural-looking results and can also help improve skin quality.and facial injections to assist with touch-ups after getting surgical augmentations in most locations, such as breast implants, facelifts, lip implants, or Brazilian butt lifts (BBLs).  These minor injections help add symmetry without assistance of surgeons, or improvement upon eyelid surgery or body contouring in the United States. They also help to fill out the texture on the breast or buttocks after surgery, without the use of anesthesia. No, your face will not be saggy once the filler is gone. At Curated Medical, we are very conscious of long-term results and will only perform treatments that we know will benefit our clients long-term. The key here is to replace volume in areas where it has already been lost, so there is “space” for filler.
Aside from the face, we can also use filler in body areas. This includes ear lobes, the backs of your hands to hide tendons and veins, above your knees for crepey skin, to hide cellulite, and even to increase the size of the buttocks or hide “hip dips.” Typically for buttocks injections, we will use either Sculptra or Radiesse.
Filler does not help with under eye bags, but can help with under eye hollowing. Typically we will treat the cheeks first, as cheek volume loss is part of the cause of under eye hollowing or tired-looking under eyes. If needed, we will then treat the hollowing area with filler or platelet rich fibrin (PRF). Typically this costs $850-$2350.

Many of our patients love Scottsdale lip augmentation and lip fillers in Scottsdale because it helps them with anti-aging, beauty, youth, and boosting their self-esteem and confidence, all without getting plastic surgery with a plastic surgeon.

Filler is a very safe and effective treatment when used correctly. At Curated Medical, we have a deep and thorough understanding of facial aging and how to use filler safely. Filler can cause damage when too much is used or when it is used in the wrong plane of your face. This is why it is important to choose a highly educated provider.
Accordion ContentPatients choose to get filler because they are noticing signs of aging. Typically, these signs of aging lead to the appearance of negative emotions (anger, sadness, tired), which don’t match the way someone feels on the inside. Our job is to help you look the way you feel and provide you with results that offer meaningful change without making you look unnatural or abnormal.
