How Does the DEKA CO2 Laser Work?
The Technology Explained
DEKA is a fractional ablative CO2 laser that delivers micro-columns of controlled thermal energy deep into the skin. It removes damaged outer layers while stimulating healing and collagen regeneration underneath. The result is smoother, firmer, more youthful-looking skin with one intensive treatment.
What Are the Benefits of DEKA CO2?
Maximum Results from One Session
While lighter resurfacing options like CoolPeel require a series of treatments, DEKA CO2 often achieves visible improvement with just one. It’s ideal for patients who want major rejuvenation and are prepared for a few days of downtime in exchange for long-term transformation. Skin looks firmer, smoother, and brighter as new collagen develops over the following weeks and months.
What to Expect
The Appointment and Recovery
Your provider will numb the area for comfort, then perform a series of passes with the DEKA CO2 laser. The treatment takes about 30–60 minutes depending on the size of the area. Expect bleeding, oozing, redness and swelling for the first 2-3 days. After that, redness and swelling will slowly improve. Peeling and dryness are normal as your skin resurfaces. By day 7, you’ll be ready to leave the house again. Most patients see smoother texture and a more even tone as early as 2 weeks, with ongoing improvement for 3–6 months.
